  18. I Have a Few More Questions

1.   So, This is Not An Attorney Group?   Are You A Financial Planning Business?

No, we are not attorneys or financial planners.  We started this business after seeing many family members and friends struggle to maintain stability while dealing with the loss of a loved one and organizing their affairs. Witnessing their difficulties, we thought, "How can we help?"

2.   I Already Have A Will And Testament.  Why Do I Need You?

Because the Will and Testament basically tells your friends and family who gets what to settle ill-will and minimize the risk of disputes.  There can be a mountain of other paperwork that needs to be organized and filed by someone.  Accounts closed.  Final Tax Returns Filed.  Pets Adopted.  Most of these things can be done so much more easily if all of the "extra" details  were in one source.

3.   I've Been Meaning To Put Everything Into a Box or Folder.  Isn't That Good Enough?

Putting important documents into a box or folder is a good start, but our service goes beyond just physical organization.  We guide you through the process of organizing all your important information into a comprehensive PDF file.   This digital file can be easily accessed, shared, and stored in multiple ways, ensuring your loved ones have everything they need, all in one place.

4.   Couldn't I Just Do This On My Own?

While it's possible to organize your documents on your own, our service brings a level of expertise and thoroughness that can be hard to achieve independently.   We've drawn from our experiences in medical, computer, and business fields to develop an extremely concise and effective system for managing these important details.

Having a will and testament is a good start, but it only addresses part of the process.   During what will likely be a stressful and painful time for your loved ones, the more organized and accessible your information is, the easier it will be for them.   Our service ensures that everything is clearly documented and easy to find, helping to alleviate some of the burden and stress on your family.

5.   There Are Some Things I May Indeed Want To Take With Me To The Grave

We all have things we'd rather keep private.   Whether it's a photo from years ago or something more personal, our service can help you address these matters discreetly.   We understand the need for privacy and respect your desire to keep certain things to yourself.

While most of our service focuses on organizing essential information like banking, investments, vehicles, and insurance details, we also offer guidance on handling sensitive items.   We help you identify and eliminate details that might be hurtful for your spouse or adult child to discover, ensuring that some memories can indeed be taken to the grave.   Rest assured, we don't need to know the specifics; our goal is to help you achieve closure and peace of mind.

6.   I'm Not The Most Computer Literate and Don't Really Know These Different Terms Like a PDF or The Cloud?

No problem at all.   We've done the homework for you when it comes to technology, and we're here to make things simple.

A PDF is a type of document format that has been around for over 30 years.   It allows users to create and share documents easily.

When we talk about the 'Cloud,' we're referring to online data storage services provided by companies like Google Drive or Apple's iCloud.   These services let you store documents, such as your organized PDF file, securely online.   This way, you can access your important information from anywhere, and it's safely backed up.   Our goal is to help you use these technologies to your advantage, even if you're not a tech expert.

7.   Do I Give You My Bank Account Information - How Much I've Got In The Bank or Information Like That?

No, we do NOT ask for your bank account passwords or details about your account balances.   One of our questionnaires asks for information about the specific banks you use.   It doesn't ask how much money is in those accounts.

The goal is to provide an organized listing of your banks, their contact information, and the account numbers.   This way, your loved ones can easily locate and manage these accounts when the time comes, such as closing an account.   We prioritize your security and privacy in all aspects of our service.

8.   I Keep Hearing About How Passwords Today Are Stolen - What About Passwords?

There is no need to provide passwords in our service. What you're putting together is the information necessary to close specific accounts after you are gone. Your next of kin will need the account number and a death certificate to manage these accounts.   We focus on providing the essential information without compromising your security.

9.   Is All Of This Legal?  I Worry About These Types of Things.

Absolutely.   Our service is entirely legal.   We are simply helping you organize your information.   We do not act to close accounts or operate with Power of Attorney.   Our role is to provide a structured and accessible way for you to manage and document your important information, ensuring it is easily available for your loved ones when needed.

10.  Do You Have Different Options From Which I Can Choose?

Yes, we offer a variety of options to suit your unique needs.   Our process is designed to be adaptable, and we have four basic options:

  • Print: You can print the entire PDF file immediately upon completion for your records.

  • USB Storage: Save the PDF file on a USB flash drive for future use.

  • Cloud Storage: Upload the PDF file to our secure server for cloud storage.

  • Printed Booklet: We can print a booklet of the PDF and mail it to you.

You can learn more about these options, including details and costs, on our website under the CARE KIT SHOP link.

12 I Do Not Want To Worry About One Of Those Little Flash Drives or Remembering To Update My Cloud Account

We've considered that too.   Once everything is organized and all questions are answered, you can simply print out the PDF file for your records.   Alternatively, we can send you a nicely printed booklet containing all your information.   This way, you don't have to worry about flash drives or updating a cloud account.

13.  Having A Will Also Means The Government Automatically Gets Notified - Doesn't It?

No, having a will does not automatically notify the government.   A last will and testament is a legal document that outlines how you want your assets distributed after you pass away.   When someone dies, their assets typically go toward funeral expenses and probate court fees.

While states may have their own procedures, most follow the U.S. Standard Death Certificate issued by the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). This certificate is used to report the death to various entities, but it does not automatically notify the government of the details in your will.

14.  What About Other Paperwork I May Have Or Something I Find While Gathering Information?

We’ve designed our system to cover a wide range of areas beyond just a will, aiming to address all aspects of your documentation needs.   However, we understand that you might come across additional paperwork or documents while organizing.

That’s why we’ve included a section specifically for adding any extra items or documents you might find.   This ensures that nothing is overlooked and everything you need to include is accounted for.   It’s really that simple!

15.  If I Use This Service, Will My Estate Ultimately Avoid Probate?

Generally, all wills and estates must go through probate.   However, by organizing your documents, getting accounts in order, canceling credit cards, updating insurance policies, and handling other details in a timely manner, you can help expedite the probate process.   While this service won’t eliminate probate, it will streamline the process and make it more efficient.

16.  What’s The Difference Between You And Other Companies?

While we can't speak for other companies, our team consists of experienced retired business professionals who have drawn on their backgrounds in fields such as Building, Technology, Nursing, and Teaching to create a comprehensive solution.

Unlike others who may simply offer a series of folders or templates, we provide a guided process to help you assemble and organize your information effectively.   Our approach is designed to support you through the process from afar, ensuring that all your details are systematically managed and easy to access.

17.  I Have An Attorney That Will Take Care Of This - The One Who Wrote The Will.

While your attorney is crucial for handling legal aspects and the execution of your will, they might not manage every small detail, such as canceling your driver's license or updating other accounts.   Attorneys charge for their time, and managing these details can be time-consuming.

By using our service, you can organize and prepare all these details in advance, making it easier and quicker for your attorney to handle everything.   This preparation ensures that no important tasks are overlooked and helps streamline the process.
